Post confinement, my city got happier
Back on topic: The Covid19 crisis has taught us many things. One thing for sure is that we are becoming humans that care more for each other and for the planet. And for once, that is good. For that compact news bling, I wanted to share with you everything that human has taught me during this 2nd wave of insanity:
🚗 Electric cars have shown us that design has not overcome the ability to have a killer car with amazing features in it. Thanks to Tesla, you can buy an accessible car and go from Paris to Brussels without really driving the car. But imagine an autonomous carpooling system. We are not that far away from that reality.
🚲 After the 1st wave in France, the government announces financing help for bikes and bike lanes dedicated to cyclists. So, everyone bought themselves a new bicycle or an electronic bicycle. Even the ones that didn’t even need one. And suddenly, Paris became the new Amsterdam! and, the traffic got lighter!
🍝 Owning a restaurant doesn’t mean that you need to offer on-table excellent service. You just need a great cook (or yourself as a chef) and Deliveroo/Uber Eat access. Think Cloud Kitchen. Also, just launched recently, you can even order freshly cooked pasta from a Robot!
🍻 Due to the hygiene barrier of the virus, bars launched their touch-free service: Scan a QR code and get access to the menu, order and pay online and pick the food/beer yourself from the counter. No need to talk to a non-responsive french server anymore. But, bear with the many bugs this service offers.
💍 LVMH was excited to buy over Tiffany and Co. But what you should also know is that Bernard Arnaut was preparing the war against their rivals (Chanel, Kering, and Richemont) long before the epidemic. He is convinced by the idea that big people eat small people. To be continued…
☀️ Have you noticed that the weather got cooler and less rainy in Europe? Well, it’s a bit normal that by clocking everyone inside their homes, our planet earth got a little bit cleaner by the minute. Researchers say that Covid19 have prevented global warming by 10 years. They also say that biodiversity evolved around the fact to bewilder. So technically, you may see bears in a year or so in the middle of Nice.
👨👩👧👦 Being apart from your family got you a little bit closer to them. Half of the European population got depressed during the first lockdown. But post-lockdown, 3/4 of the population got closer to their family and traveled back home, even after staying abroad longer than 2 years.
💉 Even though we did not find any valuable vaccine yet (apart from the 90% Pfizer one), 80% of the French population think of not investing their saving into a vaccine unless it is 100% sure. That’s convincing… I went around the web and found that 23 companies worldwide are currently working on a cure. How about joining forces to find it faster, for once? Well, I guess money is involved but surely there is a way to divide profit…
