👽 What if alien existed...
Dear all,
There is a saying: “If aliens were born 5 years before we (Humans) were, they would be around 50 years smarter than us. What if they were born a decade earlier? a century?”
Think about it a second. Our history is strange, give or take 15 years. Between year 1 to year 1000, there were no or little discoveries (🔥, yay!) Between year 1000 to 2000, there were 100 kind of wars, 15 kind of flues and 3 breakthrough. Between year 2000 and today, there were 1000 kind of war (including the biowar we are currently living). Don’t get me wrong, we are such an incredible species (when we want to) but when it comes to advancements, we are not quite there yet:
We design strange looking buildings and paint very weird art for millions of dollars. What if we get more inspired by SciFi movies and start minimising aesthetics?
We still fight for rights (AKA Black & gay) in 2020!
We start wars like we have time for them! Call me freedom write or peace maker, instead of shooting out people to expand your own kingdom, start by caring for YOUR own land and YOUR people!
We started to sell electric cars just 10 years ago but our cities still run in fuel. The future of cars is NOT cars at all, it is flying cars so technically, planes.
A flight from Paris <> NYC takes approximately 8 hours. Technically, if we would want to travel Earth <> Moon in a private jet, it would take a few days. What are we waiting for designing new planes that get you home in less than 15 hours (Home <> Airport <> security and waiting at airport <> plane <> landing <> suitcase pick up <> taxi home)
Teleportation and time travel were mentioned thousands of time but where are the actual test runs. Has someone been travelling lately?
We build smart homes before even having smart cities to put them in.
We launch 10 rockets each year and we discover 1 planet and a few new stars per year. What if we launched 10 rockets per month? We would live in Mars by then! Don’t get me wrong but, humans have the tendencies to create rules for everything. “In order to be an astronaut, you’ll have to fit that profile but with these rules, and these rules.” Every kid want to be an astronaut! Give them the chance to go into deep space and let them risk their lives if they love to do so! We would be discovering the galaxy in a giffy!
We just started to sell robots but they are not even smart enough or powerful. Alexa is the smartest AI. Try to ask “how was your day?” to Alexa and wait for a logic response. What about Ironman?
3/4 of the world population live in poverty and 1/6 jobless. What the f*** we are doing with HR and public services? Why, every time I have to pay my taxes, I have to go through this awful website where credit cards don’t even work? (welcome to France 🇫🇷, but it shouldn’t)
Blockchain was discovered in 2008 but still, we are not even sure how it works and what are the limitations of this promising tech! We should hire thousands of developers monthly to test its security, maintenance and reliability.
📽 SciFi movies: a glimpse to reality
I recently watched Attraction 2 on Streamio and you should seriously watch it! Yes, it’s another space invasion kind of movie but wtf, it’s super cool! It’s not like most SciFi movies (I’ll put you a list of my favorite ones 👎) where aliens come to earth to destroy it and humans come together and destroy them the last 20 minutes of the movie with a badass war. It’s different, very different. Go watch it before I spoil everything!
The movie is techy as f***: An AI that monitors every data humans share online and use it against us. Also, this AI machine (with the shape of an eye - watch out for the metaphor) is invisible to all satellites that were installed around the world. Eventually, if we aim to being the king of data, we should create something like this.
To fight against these so called “hackers”, Humans, in this movie, go back to using analog. Should we get rid of it too while we still can?
For the first time in alien movie history, aliens use water as their primary weapon, creating an upside down world. It’s smart to use water, about 71 percent of the Earth's surface is water-covered.
The special effect is insanely good!
💬 What if Facebook was right?
To get everyone at pace, Facebook is the biggest social network ever created. Thousands of accounts are created everyday but to be honest these represent millions of data too! Zukerberg, Facebook’s CEO, has been accused several of times to monitor public data including, but not only:
In 2018, news of the Cambridge Analytica scandal broke, revealing that the data-analytics firm improperly obtained data from tens of millions of Facebook users.
In 2019, the FTC fined Facebook $5 billion over violations of user privacy, which was a record-breaking fine for a tech company.
What if Facebook was right? What if we should monitor public data and use it for good purpose? What if Facebook worked with the FTC instead of against them? Think about it a second. If Facebook’s algorithm and database was 100% secure and only if, the world would be more secure with one big company handling data privacy and sharing proper clean data to all. That would change everything, specially for AI.
💡 What if we shared data publicly?
The world we live in today is all about competition and being the first of something: the first of launching a product, the richest man, the biggest company, the biggest data, the smaller smartphone, the most advanced smart TV, the smartest AI, etc… Well, what if we shared data publicly and use it to evolve human race once and for all? We could actually do it. Most Alien movies have confirmed it that someday, we would unite and fight alien invasion. What if we show this unity for the first time in history? We could use blockchain for that! Someone create one big blockchain and a set of rules and everyone start playing by its rules. Cool no? We would be 15 times more advanced working together on building robots to vs. now, working on 100 different robots with 1000 different features and 25 models launched each year.
What a waste of resources.
